What is Halo?
Halo is a laser resurfacing treatment intended to give the skin a more bright and youthful appearance. It uses a hybrid fractional laser, meaning it employs both ablative and non-ablative features in a single treatment. The ablative feature involves creating many tiny holes across the surface of the skin while the non-ablative feature creates fewer, relatively deeper holes while keeping the surrounding skin intact. The thermal damage from both features stimulates elastin and collagen regeneration, which during the healing process forms glowing new skin. The healing process continues to improve the skin for six months after the initial treatment.
What are the benefits of Halo?
Halo treatments reduce the size of enlarged pores, hyperpigmentation, redness and discoloration, light scars, uneven tone and texture, sun damage, fine wrinkles, and skin laxity, improving the overall appearance of the skin and giving a “Halo glow.”
Results can be achieved in just one or two treatments instead of the multiple sessions that may be required for other kinds of treatments.
Generally, a Halo treatment is very comfortable and lasts for about 30 minutes. A sunburn-like heat may be felt immediately after the treatment. The sensation fades naturally after an hour and cool compresses or cool air will make a patient more comfortable until this occurs.
Healing time is between three to five days, with mild sloughing of the skin. If desired, mineral-based makeup can be applied 24 hours after a procedure.
Halo treatments are safe for all skin types and can be used for face and body.
